Video: Chicago School Employee Pushes Student Down Staircase

By Samantha Abernethy in News on May 23, 2013 7:00PM

This cell phone video shows a high school employee pushing a Chicago high school student down a flight of stairs, then punching her in the face. Chicago Public Schools says the employee has been immediately removed from his position, and Chicago police have been contacted.

The video shows a man who according to NBC Chicago, "serves in an undefined safety role" at Dunbar Vocational Career Academy pushing a 16-year-old student down the stairs on Tuesday. The student lay on the ground for a moment, and when she got up the man hit her in the face. The girl's mother told NBC her daughter had to go to the emergency room for her injuries.

NBC writes:

Students who declined to be interviewed on camera said they believed the safety official was trying to intervene in a fight between two students, one of whom is the girl in the video. Witnesses said the girl began hitting the guard about the head and chest as he tried to separate her from an altercation.

Watch the video below, as posted on WorldStarHipHop. And yes, it's a bit violent, so be prepared to flinch.
