Charlie Louvin, along with his late brother Ira, was one of the seminal figures in country music, bringing tight harmony vocals honed from years singing doom-and-gloom Baptist gospel. (The Louvin Brothers 1959 album Satan is Real is worth seeking out on vinyl.) The documentary Charlie Louvin: Still Rattlin' the Devil's Cage, which looks at his life and career, will be screened 6:30 p.m. May 31 at Hideout.
