A Chicago man faces charges after he was found "on his hands and knees" in a cage with a pit bull at the city pound.

Authorities say Gerardo Perez, 50, was on a tour of Chicago Animal Care & Control's facility in Pilsen when he strayed from the group. An employee allegedly spotted him in a restricted area and instructed him to leave, but he returned to find Perez inside the cage with a pit bull.

According to DNAinfo, "The witness said Perez was on his hands and knees, while the dog's penis was erect."

In Cook County Bond Court Saturday, a prosecutor said Perez "made inculpatory statements regarding sexual conduct with the dog to other facility employees.”

Perez faces felony charges of burglary and criminal sexual conduct with an animal. He is in jail on $80,000 bail.
