Stop The Presses: There's Going To Be A Sriracha Movie

By Anthony Todd in Food on Jun 3, 2013 9:20PM

This is the most monumental, important and exciting piece of food news you will read today — at least if you're a fan of a certain spicy red rooster. An Illinois-based filmmaker is making a documentary about Sriracha.

The Orange County Register reports that Griffin Hammond, a "professional video editor" and filmmaker from Bloomington, is putting together the documentary on everyone's favorite spicy sauce. He's also got a rockin' sriracha t-shirt that you can see in the video below.

The register reports:

[Hammond] recently toured Sriracha ground zero Huy Fong Foods, and is interviewing all sorts of experts and fans, including Sriracha Cookbook author Randy Clemens and the college kid who suggested Sriracha in the Lay's Do Us A Flavor competition.

You can get a look at a bit of the footage in the first part of the video below. The movie is supposed to come on in September - we're already planning our Sriracha-themed viewing party.
