Pencil This In: Pop-Up Art Loop At Block 37; University Of Chicago Poetry Chapbook Festival

Art Walk

The Chicago Loop Alliance has turned 17,000 square feet of space inside Block 37 into its latest pop-up art gallery. For this month's Pop-Up Art Loop "Firt Thursdays" walk June 6 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., this space will feature Chicago Design Museum's 2013 exhibition "Work at Play." Food and drink is available at all of the stops on the walk except 42 S. State St.

Poetry

Eric Elshtain, the founder and editor of Beard of Bees press, Jennifer Karmin, founding curator of the Red Rover Reading Series, and Kenyatta Rogers, 2012-2013 Visiting Poet at Columbia College Chicago, are the featured readers for the University of Chicago's "Poetry Chapbooks: Text and Texture" release party, 7-9 p.m. June 6. Students who contributed to the chapbook will also be reading their work. (935 East 60th street--Midway Studios 108)
