Pencil This In: Make Way For People Bike Tour
By Chuck Sudo in Arts & Entertainment on Jun 14, 2013 5:40PM
The Chicago Department of Transportation's Make Way for People initiative seeks to encourage community development and culture through the use of "placemaking"—using free space in alleys, intersections, parking spots and medians for people to kick back and relax.
From 9 a.m. - noon June 15 a bike tour will pass and investigate the pilot areas of the program, starting from Millennium Park's McDonald’s Cycle Center and heading north to Andersonville or south to Bronzeville. It's free to participate, but you have to register here to do so.
If you have an event for inclusion in "Pencil This In," please contact Tankboy (for A&E-related listings), Anthony (for tastings, dinners and food and drink-related events) or tips[at]chicagoist[dot]com.
