Pencil This In: Sweet Summer Solstice Potluck Supper

By Melissa Wiley in Food on Jun 19, 2013 3:10PM

2011_12_13Honey2.jpg Summer’s inception is so much honey in the mouth. All the more so because nectar-rich plants the likes of yellow sweet clover and black locust have produced record blooms this year, leaving us all with a bigger honey pot. This Friday, June 21, the Chicago Honey Co-op will host its annual Sweet Summer Solstice Potluck, a sweet ambrosia of a rooftop picnic, to sweeten everyone's plate.

Bring a chair and a signature dish and repose in the lingering daylight among the hives on the green roof of Christy Webber Landscapes. Slow Food Chicago will provide the main course along with vino from Candid Wines, beer from Goose Island, and bread from Crumb while classical guitarist Neal Dixon Smith will serenade you—and all those busy bees—into the late, late sunset.

Purchase tickets here for $15 per person.
