Blackhawks Parade Set For Friday

Multiple media outlets are reporting the city will host a parade for the Stanley Cup Champion Blackhawks Friday. A statement from the Mayor's office is expected later today announcing the time and route.
The city will be glad to have the lead time to plan this one. After the Hawks' 2010 Stanley Cup win, 2 million people flocked downtown to watch the parade and bask in the glow of the city's last pro sports championship. The advance notice will also give the Emanuel administration to find sponsors for the parade so the city doesn't have to pay for it. The 2010 celebration cost $200,000, paid for by sponsors including ComEd, Bud Light, the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) and Harris Bank.
