Man Shot And Killed While Selling Newspapers Tuesday Morning

A 23-year-old man was shot and killed while selling Sun-Times newspapers near the Dan Ryan Expressway Tuesday morning.
Terrence Graves, 23, was selling newspapers and fruit at the intersection of 99th and Halsted streets around 5:30 a.m. when two men approached and opened fire. He collapsed on the sidewalk outside a nearby BP gas station.
Teresa Graves, the victim's mother, told the Tribune that Terrence Graves worked at the intersection from 4 a.m. to 11 a.m., and he had a fiance and 4-year-old daughter.
"They came up on him at 5:30 this morning and shot him. Several times," said Teresa Graves. "Not just once, several times. I want to know why."
Witnesses described hearing as many as 10 shots and saw two men flee down an alley. Police have no suspects.
Also, a 19-year-old man was shot and killed while trying to outrun a gunman who opened fire on a group in the Washington Heights neighborhood around 8 p.m. Monday.
