Discussion
The Sun-Times firing of its entire photography staff raises concerns about the future of print journalism, if not the Sun-Times. The state and future of print will be the focus of a discussion hosted by Graze magazine July 7 from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Revolution Brewing's brewpub. WBEZ's Alison Cuddy moderates "Print to the Future" with a panel of area media types including Chicago Reader Editor-in-chief Mara Shalhoup, Huffington Post editor Joe Erbentraut, Ed Marzewski (Publisher, Proximity, Lumpen, and Mash Tun) and Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism professor Charles Whitaker. Admission includes appetizers and Revolution Brewing beers. (2323 N. Milwaukee Ave., purchase tickets here.)
Music
Popular blues singer and pianist Yoko Noge brings her band and special guests to Cyrano's Farm Kitchen tonight from 6:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. It's free, but you should probably grab a couple of cocktails and maybe have dinner there if you make the trek.
