Blackhawks Take Batting Practice At Wrigley

Oh, this is cute—on Friday, Blackhawks players Bryan Bickell, Brandon Bollig, and Patrick Sharp took part in batting practice and shagged fly balls before the Cubs game at Wrigley.

Manager Dale Sveum talked about having the players there and said that maybe the champions would rub off on the Cubs.

“I think we all got caught up in (the Cup run),” Sveum said “A lot of times you sit back, no doubt, and you’re just like a 10-year-old kid. And then when the (Blackhawks) come out and the (Cubs) guys get to meet them and you talk about the Cup and all that stuff … you do reflect on it.

“When you win a championship you wish everyone could have gone through it because there is only one feeling in the world when you are playing sports, and it’s that feeling after that last pitch or the buzzer goes off and you’re world champions. You don’t get to do that again. I mean, hopefully you do, but it doesn’t happen to too many people two, three or four times. It’s special."

Then the Cubs lost to the Pirates 6-2. Oh well.
