By Amy Cavanaugh in Arts & Entertainment on Jul 7, 2013 3:00PM

2013_07_06_bluevelvet.jpg Wind down the long weekend by heading to Cole's tonight at 8 p.m. for Cinema Minima's free screening of "Blue Velvet."

The film, written and directed by David Lynch in 1986, is a neo-noir classic starring Dennis Hopper, Isabella Rosellini, and Kyle McLaughlin. The site described the film as a "dark American mystery" that "draws the curtain away from the facade of suburban complacency, revealing its hometown’s seediest underground characters."

Cole’s is located at 2338 N. Milwaukee Ave.
