Today's Weather: It Feels Like Rain

Rise and shine, if you haven't already. Actually, just rise. There will be no shining today and possibly tomorrow as we return from a long Independence Day holiday to rain and what Skilling Central calls "stifling" humidity. What that means, folks, is we need to keep an eye on the heat index today as dew points across the area will climb into the upper 70s, meaning today's forecast high of 90 degrees will feel more like 100 as we head into the afternoon. The storms heading into the area will bring with them heavy winds, which is why the National Weather Service announced a Marine Weather Statement for Lake Michigan warning of gusty winds and choppy waters.
