Looking for an afternoon down on the farm where you can sup at leisure on the fat of the land? You’re not the only one seeking greener pastures, because most summer farm dinners have long since sold out. But there are still open slots for the Saturday, Sept. 14 farm tour and dinner at Slagel Family Farm. With Three Aces, The Bedford, and Carriage House along for the hoedown, there’s every reason to hop on this hay wagon before it topples with city folk.

The afternoon begins at 2:30 p.m. with a butchering demonstration at Slagel Family Meats followed by a tour of the free-roaming livestock. The dinner—prepared and served by Matt Troost of Three Aces, Michael Galen of The Bedford, and Mark Steuer of Carriage House— then takes place inside a barn outfitted with all the fixings. Booze are BYO, and you can opt for transportation to and from Chicago via bus.

Tickets are $125 per person, and you can buy tickets here.
