We had the pleasure of attending last year’s first Craft Beer Boat, a floating mini beer festival created by Jake Williams of Sixpoint and Adam Schulte of Artisanal Imports. The event attracted beer lovers, bar owners, and plenty of personalities from the industry, as well as some fantastic views of the city and the fireworks, beers, and snacks from Bee’s Knees nuts. This year proves to be even bigger and better, and you have three final chances to win tickets this week.

Setting sail at 7 p.m. July 31 from Burnham Harbor, this year’s Craft Beer Boat features selections from Sixpoint and the Aritsanal Imports catalog, as well as beers from Allagash and cider from Aspall. There will also be a special release of Seef Bier, an old style of Belgian beer that was only produced by family brewers in Antwerp, and then disappeared after World War I. Ben Iverson of Allagash and Allagash brewers join the crew this year along with Henry Chevallier Guild of Aspall Cider.

“Wait a minute! I really want to go, and I have piles of money!” you may say. “But I can’t just BUY a ticket?” So sorry, moneybags. Even in the days where almost everything has a price, the gentlemen of the Craft Beer Boat must stick to their plan. Tickets can only be earned, not bought, but you have a couple of ways to get on board.

First, you can attend any of the three final ticket giveaways. If you purchase a featured beer at one of these stops, you are given a raffle ticket. At the end of the night, your hosts will choose a winner. The more you drink, or the more you buy beers for others, the better your chances of winning.

The final three events are:
July 25 at Village Tap (2055 W. Roscoe St.)
July 26 at Prairie Moon (1502 Sherman Ave., Evanston)
July 27 at Beer Market (1270 S Milwaukee Ave., Vernon Hills)

All events are held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Secondly, if you can’t make it to these ticket giveaways, you can also win by sharing the event on Twitter. Share the image of the poster on the top of the page, or wherever you encouter it in the wild, and be certain to include @craftbeerboat, and you just might get bonus points for tweeting to @SixpointJake, @AllagashBen, and @ArtisanalChi.

Best of luck to all of you, and we hope to see you on the boat.
