When we heard that Todd Lillethun's movie-in-progress was entitled Safe Word, the phrase "Cacao! Cacao!" immediately popped into our head.

The plotline sounds a bit higher stakes than anything on Portlandia however: "Greg and Billy are a young gay couple who decide to spice up their relationship with a fantasy role playing game. When a surprise guest changes the stakes, the fantasy turns into a twisted endgame with shocking results. " Lillethun is seeking finishing funds of $5,000 via Kickstarter for his short gay comedic thriller, which is "designed to keep the audience guessing to the end."

Lillethun is the former Program Director of Chicago Filmmakers and has directed several short films before, so he certainly knows his way around a budget. More than half of his goal has already been raised, but with a July 31 deadline he needs help to get over the finish line. Why not forgo your purchase of Eating Out: The Open Weekend and instead help make sure this this local film gets made? Head over to the Kickstarter page and check it out.
