In rehearsal for Buena Vista, one of the shows featured in the Steppenwolf's 2013 First Look season.
Catch a few works from promising young playwrights or take in a classic dark comedy. Whatever you decide, just make your way to the theater already.
David Mamet’s Pulitzer-winning play featuring a few distressed Chicago real estate agents is getting a short-lived run in Skokie. Catch this searing comedy before it closes Aug. 3.
Gorilla Tango Skokie Theatre, 7924 Lincoln Ave., Skokie, 847-677-7761 or online.
You know exactly what you’re about to get with a name like Bedroom Farce. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t a few plot twists in store for four hilariously desperate couples navigating the complexities of monogamy. The show runs through Sunday, Sept. 1.
Eclipse Theatre Company at The Athenaeum Theatre, 2936 N. Southport, 773-935-6875 or online.
We couldn’t choose just one, so instead, grab tickets for all three productions during the Steppenwolf’s 2013 First Look season: Buena Vista, The Gospel of Franklin and Annie Bosh is Missing. Each work is a developmental new play written by up-and-coming Chicago playwrights. The shows run Monday, July 29 to Sunday, August 25.
Steppenwolf Theatre, 1650 N. Halsted, 312-335-1650 or online.
