The Smashing Pumpkins' seminal alt-rock masterpiece Siamese Dream was released twenty years ago today, July 27th, 2013. We'll have a more in-depth discussion tomorrow on the album, seeing as we're too busy having our minds re-blown by "Rocket" and "Mayonaise" all over again.

But, in the meantime, here's a neat artifact from that era: a 3.5-inch floppy disk handed out to Tower Records attendees who were at the one-time record chain's release party for the album.

One attendee was Chicago Tribune ad-man Tony Bosco, who shared an image of the floppy disk, which had a screensaver on it that fans could watch as they listened to the record.

Bosco writes that the screensaver wasn't much to write home about. But still, it's photographic proof of a bygone era. Floppy disks, Tower Records, and the original Smashing Pumpkins lineup that made the album, are now all lost to the 90s. But Siamese Dream is still alive and well.

Listen, why don't you?
