We're embarrassed to admit how often we stop into Provenance to grab a bottle of wine - but we rarely leave anything there. This month, the gourmet food and wine shop is asking you to change that particular habit and bring in your non-perishable food and/or personal item donations. If you do, you might win a sweet prize.

Provenance has teamed up with Common Pantry, a food pantry that serves more than 1200 clients on the North side of the city. At both Provenance locations, big green bags have been set up to take donations. Common Pantry has a convenient "Most Wanted" list, if you need suggestions about what to donate. In addition to food, things like soap, toothpaste and ziploc bags are needed.

Provenance is sweetening the deal with a raffle. Every time you donate, you'll get entered into a drawing to win a $50 gift certificate. If you want to be sneaky and space out your donations (bring in one can each time you get a bottle of wine), you'll get an entry each time. The drawing is in September.

Provenance Food and Wine is at 2528 N. California Avenue and 2312 W. Leland Avenue.
