Fake Cops Found Out When They Pull Over A Real Cop

Two men impersonating police officers clearly lacked the deductive reasoning to make detective.

Police are looking for two men who impersonated police officers during a traffic stop in which the fake cops pulled over a real off-duty police officer who was still in uniform.

The real police officer was driving in the Avondale neighborhood on his way home from work when a white SUV turned on its flashing lights. Two men, one in dark clothes and one in jeans, exited the SUV. One of the two approached the off-duty officer's car.

And how did that exchange go? The Tribune writes:

The officer, who was still wearing his bullet resistant vest and was wearing a police shirt, asked the man, "Who are you?" When the man replied: "I'm Chicago police," the officer sensed they were pretending and said, "Oh really?"

One alleged fake police officer shouted back to the other, "It's OK, it's Chicago police," then the two fled. The police officer followed them for a while, but lost them.
