Has Chicago Taco Already Closed?

It's official, we're very very confused. Last week, long time favorite West Town Tavern announced that they were closing. A couple of days later, they announced they were turning into a taco joint, the generically-named Chicago Taco. Now, it looks like that might be gone already.
We were tipped off by several people that the Chicago Taco signs have been pulled down from the windows at the restaurant. A commenter on Eater said the same thing, and rumors are flying around the social media-sphere that it's gone. In addition, their Facebook and Twitter accounts have disappeared and they never had a phone number. West Town Tavern's old number has been disconnected. In response to a request from a user on the West Town Chamber of Commerce's Facebook page, the Chamber confirmed that Chicago Taco was closed, but gave no more information.
A call to Chef/Owner Susan Goss hasn't yet been returned. However, we were forwarded an email from Goss that said "Chicago Taco opened as a pop up test and has closed."
Was this a way to make a little extra money? Empty out the freezer? See if they could fake out the Chicago food media? Who knows.
At least we can laugh through our pain?
