Nick Offerman has been spending some quality time at the Music Box Theatre this year. First he made a special appearance at the Lake View movie house in March to promote his movie Somebody Up There Likes Me. Offerman will return to the Music Box Oct. 4 as part of a release party for his upcoming book Paddle Your Own Canoe: One Man's Principles for Delicious Living.

Here's how the publisher describes the book by the Minooka, Ill. native.

Parks and Recreation actor Nick Offerman shares his humorous musings on life, manliness, meat, and much more in his first book. Growing a perfect moustache, grilling red meat, wooing a woman—who better to learn from than the always charming, always manly Nick Offerman, best known as Parks and Recreation’s Ron Swanson?

Well, if you're going to get typecast, might as well strike while the iron is hot. The Music Box is hosting the book release party for Unabridged Bookstore from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tickets for the event are on sale online now. Admission for one person is $30 and includes a copy of the book; $45 gets admission for two and a copy of the book.
