Before moving to Los Angeles, musician, producer and sound engineer Griffin Rodriguez was active in Chicago’s jazz and experimental rock scene, founding the South Loop recording collective Shape Shoppe and as a member of the groups Icy Demons and Bablicon. Rodriguez was severely injured in a bike accident in L.A. last week, so Constellation has beefed up their weekend billings to raise funds for his medical expenses and recovery.

Tomorrow’s show at Constellation with Joe Morris, Joshua Abrams and David Boykin will now feature some special guests including The Cairo Gang, Tim Kinsella of Joan of Arc and My Silence (Mike Reed, Jason Stein, Nick Butcher with guests Cooper Crane and Tomeka Reid), and all the proceeds Sunday’s Frequency Series concert featuring Cooper Crain, Daniel Quinlivan and Rob Frye (from Bitchin Bajas) will go toward his recovery. For more information on Rodriguez’s condition or to make a donation, visit his medical fund site.

Tickets for Saturday are $12, and show begins at 9 p.m. Sunday’s show is $5 at the door and begins at 8:30 p.m. Constellation is located at 3111 N. Western Ave.
