Ciao Bella! Celebrate Ferragosto with Spiaggia

Italians do many things—maybe everything—right. From olive oil to overwrought hand gestures amid laundry drying in the open air, they’ve got la dolce vita down. The latest in an endless stream of evidence of Mediterranean good living? Ferragosto, the annual holiday when natives break for the beach, often for a month at a time, to eat, drink, and be thoroughgoing sea-sprayed sensuous. This Thursday, Spiaggia is wisely following suit, throwing a beach party at Oak Street Beach Food + Drink from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.
For $65, you can glut yourself on Prosciutto di Parma and salmon while toasting to the closing days of summer with free-flowing Peroni, rosato, and Negroni as the sun says buona notte. Ferragosto marks the first of 30 items on the restaurant’s bucket list before turning 30 on April 13, 2014, and you can buy your tickets here.
