Robert Feder Partners With Tribune To Launch New Website

2013_4_8_feder_small.jpg Powerhouse local media critic Robert Feder announced Thursday evening he will launch a new website in a partnership with Chicago Tribune Media Group.

Under the terms of the agreement, Feder will retain sole ownership of RobertFeder.com and its content, while Tribune will handle ad sales and technical support. “This new venture with the Tribune guarantees that my blog will be editorially independent,” Feder said in a statement.

Feder found a new life on the Internet since he left the Sun-Times in 2008. First at Chicago Public Media’s Vocalo and later at Time Out Chicago, he’s shown consistently that regardless of the platform, good journalism is still all about solid reporting, creative writing and legwork. Feder accepted a buyout of his TOC contract in April as the publication transitioned to a web-only presence

Feder praised Tribune vice president of digital Bill Adee in his statement. “Of all the ideas I considered since I left Time Out last April, Bill's were by far the most creative, exciting and potentially rewarding,” he said.

Feder said he expects his new website to launch in September.
