- It was another weekend filled with bloodshed in Chicago. Twenty-eight people were wounded in shootings across the city—six of those shootings were fatal. [Sun-Times]
- A 7-year-old was shot in West Garfield Park 9 p.m. Sunday while putting away his bike. [Tribune]
- Alameen Muhammad, a popular barber in Englewood known for giving children free back-to-school haircuts and helping people find jobs, was found beaten to death in his apartment over the weekend. [DNAInfo Chicago]
- Oak Street Beach was popular with iPhone thieves. Five people were arrested after three separate iPhone robberies Saturday. [Tribune]
- Michael Applebee was charged with felony aggravated battery after he allegedly bit a Chicago Police officer at the O'Hare Blue Line station. [CBS Chicago]
- Three were wounded in a shooting at a bar on the Southwest side. [ABC Chicago]
