Pizza For Dance

Tuesday, Aug. 20, Pizzeria Serio in Roscoe Village will be donating 20 percent of it’s sales to The Dance COLEctive, the modern dance company formed in 1996 by Margi Cole. Just mention ‘Eating for the Arts’ or use the code EAT4TDC when ordering online. Try the dancer’s choice, "The Big Cheese with Pineapple and Canadian Bacon."


Moscow Ballet Nutcracker Auditions

Think your little one’s got what it takes to be an angel or a Russian in the Land of Sweets? The Moscow Ballet is holding auditions next Tuesday, Aug. 27 for kids age 7-17 for their December production of “The Great Russian Nutcracker” at Rosemont Theater. Auditions will take place at Southport Performing Arts Conservatory (3433-37 W. Peterson Ave.) beginning at 4:30pm. Dancers must have at least two years of ballet experience and be under five feet tall. For more information and to register, visit SPACE’s website.


Deeply Rooted Travels To JOMBA!

Deeply Rooted Dance Theater will be the first company to represent the U.S. at JOMBA!, a ten-day South African contemporary dance festival beginning August 28. There they will launch a five-year multigenerational repertory project titled Generations, which Chicagoans will have the chance to see Nov. 1 at Harris Theater.
