Photos: The Quieter 2013 Chicago Air & Water Show

The absence of military precision flight teams like the Air Force Thunderbirds and Navy Blue Angels made 2013 Chicago Air and Water Show a decidedly quieter one for those of us who live near the lakefront. It also hampered attendance.
The city estimated 1.7 million people hit the lakefront to watch the annual festival last weekend. Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events spokeswoman Mary May said the drop in attendance could be directly attributed to the loss of the military flight teams.
