Mother Nature is making up for lost time with today's weather forecast. WGN's Chicago Weather Center penciled in the forecast high at 90 degrees. Accuweather has the mercury climbing to the mid-80s. The humidity levels are just high enough that you'll feel slightly uncomfortable today and we will have a chance of thunderstorms overnight. Those will be needed as Tom Skilling said Wednesday the 1.02 inches of rain recorded make this the driest August in 27 years.

If we reach Skilling Central's 90 degree prediction it will mark the first time since mid-July the mercury has crossed that threshold. The warm and humid conditions have us under another ozone action alert from the Illinois EPA.
