The Boulevard Kicks Off Tonight

The Whigs headline The Boulevard Logan Square fest tonight.

Logan Square already has its signature festival—June’s Milwaukee Avenue Arts Festival—but hey, we’re not going to turn down an opportunity to drink in the street while listening to good tunes. The Boulevard may be a lesser-known music fest, but it’s got a lot of spunk and a pretty stellar lineup.

The Boulevard, which was thrown together by the guys at StarEvents and Silver Wrapper, kicks off this afternoon and runs through Sunday and takes place just outside of the Logan Square blue line stop. The two stages welcome a variety of acts, from rock to jazz, including Athens trio The Whigs, Alabama rockers BoomBox, and local funk-makers Snarky Puppy. Check out the full lineup below.

Oh, and word has it they’ll be serving up some hard-to-find craft beers, not to mention food from local eateries. It’s a five buck donation to get in, but don’t be stingy, because proceeds go to the neighborhood’s St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.

The Boulevard runs Friday through Sunday, Aug. 23-25, 3100 W Logan, $5 donation, all ages
