2013_8_27_GrowingHome.jpg Pretty much anything Bang Bang Pie Company does gets our attention, and when there is gardening involved, how can you say no? Growing Home, Chicago's first certified organic high-production urban farm which has given scores of people job training in agriculture over the years, is hosting this benefit dinner that includes some of the city's best chefs, delicious cocktails and, of course, pies.

On Sept. 15, a family-style dinner at Bang Bang's backyard will feature the cooking of chefs who have honed their skills in the kitchens of Paul Virant including Nathan Sears (Radler/DAS), John Boisse (Perennial Virant), Scott Manley (Table, Donkey and Stick) and more. All the meat will be local, provided by Slagel Family Farms. There will also be beer by Half Acre, cocktails, games, music, and probably some surprises we don't know about.

The whole thing is $65 per person and the proceeds go to Growing Home. Buy tickets online now.
