Blackhawks Sign Crawford To Long-Term Deal

Corey Crawford, who should have won the Conn Smythe Trophy in this year's Stanley Cup playoffs instead of Patrick Kane, was rewarded with a six-year contract extension that will keep him in Chicago through the 2019-20 season. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed but, as Sports Illustrated notes, it would not be surprising to see Crawford sign a similar deal to L.A. Kings goalie Jonathan Quick and Boston's Tuukka Rask, two goaltenders Crawford outplayed en route to the Cup.
Crawford posted a 16-7 record with a .932 save percentage, one shutout and a league-best 1.84 goals-against average in 23 post-season games, even as the Bruins exposed the gaping hole on his glove side in the Finals. (And here's hoping the new deal allows for enough money for Crawford to hire a coach who can remedy that.)
Crawford's playoff performance was nearly a mirror of his regular season breakthrough where he silenced any detractors with steady play and the "What? Me Worry?" attitude all top goalies possess. Fuck yeah, Chicagoooooo!!!!!
