Bronzeville Bikes, Chicago Bike Roll Call and Go Bronzeville are hosting a Pop-Up Bike Repair and cargo bike roll call, 3 p.m. - 6 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 8 at the Bronzeville Community Garden. Get your bike fixed for free, and meet Bronzeville neighbors who are working to make the South Side neighborhood more bike-friendly.

Mechanic Aaron Swanton
will be on hand to do assessments and small repairs. If you're the DIY type, learn what tools and parts you'll need to confidently fix your bike on your own. Aaron is the Youth Program Manager at Blackstone Bicycle Works and a contributing mechanic at Comrade Cycles. At Blackstone, he teaches young people entrepreneurial and mechanic skills in a safe and positive environment and in the context of a small business.

Several lucky people will win a free bike rack and milk crate for their bike to immediately start hauling cargo, donated from Planet Bike and West Town Bikes.

The Bronzeville Community Garden is located at 51st Street and Calumet Avenue.
