My Bloody Valentine released m b v, its first new album of material in 21 years, in February to rabid consumption from fans and across-the-board critical acclaim, including our pals at Gothamist. The bigger question was whether Kevin Shields and company would hit the road in support of the album. That was answered emphatically with a series of European and West Coast gigs.

Now it’s the Midwest’s turn to see if My Bloody Valentine still holds up live. The band announced a series of gigs across the Midwest, East Coast and Canada that includes a Nov. 3 show at Aragon Ballroom. Coincidentally, the last time My Bloody Valentine played Chicago, in 2008, it was also at the Aragon. (If you focus you can hear Tankboy screaming, “Why?” carried on the wind.)

Tickets haven’t gone on sale yet but fans of the band would be wise to keep tabs on MBV’s gigs page and update your Ticketmaster alerts so you’re on top of things once they do.
