Divvy, the city’s bike sharing program, has proven to be very popular since its June launch with over 310,000 trips and an estimated 900,000 miles tallied by users of the program to date. With that comes numerous cases of Divvy riders biking on the sidewalk, not wearing helmets, biking against the flow of traffic and other rules of the road infractions.

Divvy has taken note of all the bike safety fuckery and is hosting a safety video contest. They’re looking for short, entertaining videos on how to bike safely on the powder blue tanks and are calling for submissions from riders via YouTube and Vine. The winning videos will receive a free five-year Divvy membership. Twenty-five runners-up in each category will receive a Bern helmet, a Divvy t-shirt, and five 24-Hour Passes.

A Divvy bike must be shown in the video and all videos should be about bike safety and bike laws and address at least one of the following topics: wearing a helmet; planning a route; navigating city traffic; and walking your bike on a sidewalk.

Submissions will be accepted at divvybikes.com through 5 p.m. Sept. 30 with the winners announced on the website Oct. 7.
