Over the weekend we wrote about Station to Station, a traveling art festival sponsored by Levi’s that pulls into Union Station tonight. The festival, billed as a “living film” touching upon multiple artistic disciplines, features a musical lineup including No Age, White Mystery and Theaster Gates and the Black Monks of Mississippi.

The festival’s organizers announced Monday that none other than Mavis Staples has been added to the bill. For us, this moves Station to Station from “recommended” to “highly recommended” based on Staples’ performance Friday night at the A.V. Fest/Hideout Block Party. Hopefully she’ll be in better voice than she was Friday, but Staples is still a firecracker in concert and her band may even be able to overcome the acoustics of Union Station.

Tickets are still available as of post time and can be purchased online here.
