Pencil This In: Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams Chicago Opening

We had the opportunity to sample some of the ice creams and frozen yogurt from Columbus-based Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams last weekend at the A.V. Fest/Hideout Block Party and were impressed by the textures and flavors. Owner Jeni Britton Bauer will be in Chicago for the opening of her company's first scoop shop 11 a.m. Sept. 15 at 3404 N. Southport. If you want to discover what the fuss is all about sooner, Jeni's is hosting a preview party 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. Sept. 14. Hie thee while the weather is still fine.
