House Theatre's production of The Crownless King at the Chopin Theatre.
There's more than enough heavy emotion and high-action drama on the Chicago stage this week.
Billed as a poetry/drama hybrid with a healthy dose of supernatural fantasy, we can’t help but be intrigued by Interrobang Theatre Project’s production of Terminus. Count us in. The show runs through Sunday, Oct. 6.
Interrobang Theatre Project at the Athenaeum Theatre, 2936 N. Southport, 773-935-6875 or online.
Ensemble member Joan Allen is coming back to the Steppenwolf after spending 20 years shooting movies in Hollywood. She marks her return to the stage in The Wheel, an emotional drama set in 19th century Spain. The show runs through Sunday, Nov. 10.
Steppenwolf Theatre, 1650 N. Halsted, 312-335-1650 or online.
Part two of the House Theatre’s epic trilogy, The Crownless King is an intensely physical, high-action drama that weaves together legendary myths, unyielding heroes and a whole lot of spectacle. Sounds like our kind of play.
The show runs through Sunday, Oct. 20.
The House Theatre at Chopin Theatre, 1543 W. Division St., 773-769-3832 or online.
