Bidding Begins Today On Jesse Jackson Jr's Collectible Crap

By Chuck Sudo in News on Sep 17, 2013 2:40PM

Bidding begins at 10 a.m. CST on some of the personal items former congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. bought with campaign money. Unfortunately the $43,000 Rolex watch isn't listed but Michael Jackson aficionados, Bruce Lee fans and people simply looking to own a mink cape with money to spend should be registering online now.

Twelve items are up for bid; most of them collectibles Jackson could have won with a hot round or two of Pop-a-Shot at Dave and Buster's. Bidding starts at $300 for an autographed Michael Jackson "Thriller" poster while the opening bid for a ladies brown cashmere cape with brown mink double edge trim is $115. That's a steal if the bidding doesn't skyrocket and your cares melt away when you're draped in cashmere.

Federal authorities are auctioning off the items and the money raised will go toward the $750,000 Jackson is required to pay back to his campaign fund. Jackson pleaded guilty to misusing campaign funds in February and sentenced to two-and-a-half in prison last month. Jackson's wife Sandi pleaded guilty to tax evasion and was sentenced to a year in prison.

The auction runs through Sept. 26.
