It's fair to say that at one point in the late aughts REHAB was the best dance party in Chicago. In fact, in 2009 it was named the best dance party in the U.S. at the Paper Magazine Nightlife Awards.

REHAB took place just as the wave of dance rock and electro was cresting, in the days just before everyone who had broadband, a laptop and an instant record collection became a DJ and even more folks became "promoters." In 2012 REHAB had its plug pulled unexpectedly, but to be fair the time was probably right. Club nights in Chicago were at the over-saturation point and none have regained the heady steam of REHAB's glory days.

The REHAB brand re-resurfaced for a one-off night last spring, and it appears that the itch is still there to have a good time because they've decided to resurrect REHAB one more time. Only this time they're raising the stakes and turning it into a boat party on a yacht in Lake Michigan.

It goes down this Saturday and, in a first for REHAB, it's happening in broad daylight! From 1 p.m until 4 p.m. REHAB will live again, powered by a host other DJs including Gemini Club, Hollywood Holt. Skyler Mendoza, Greg Corner, PHNM, a bunch of others manning the decks. usually we would pooh-pooh a boat party, since they tend to be stocked with musclebound douchebags and fake blondes in even faker bodies, but we imagine that under the REHAB banner this ship will set sail with a bunch of freaks whose only interest is to dance, rage and have a good time. Sign us up.

The REHAB Yacht Party, is on Saturday, Sept. 21, leaving from Navy Pier on the Anita Dee II, boarding at 12:30 p.m. and sailing from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m., $30 in advance / $40 at the door, 21+
