Every time we turn around, Chef Homaro Cantu is doing something new. Whether it's computerizing his restaurant, rotating his menus every few months, starting an aeroponic farm in his basement or experimenting with flavor-tripping miracle berries, Cantu never slows down. After we reported last week that Cantu changed the long-time edible menu at Moto, we thought we were done reporting on him for a few minutes. We were wrong.

Two big pieces of news came out last week about the molecular gastronome, who turns 37 today. First, Cantu announced via email and video that he would be releasing The Moto Cookbook in 2014. There isn't much information available yet, except that the book will showcase his innovative techniques and every recipe will come with a video. Check out the promotional video below (and ignore the mid-2000s porn DVD graphics) for more teasing.

If you weren't satisfied with adding miracle berries to your desserts and cocktails, how about your coffee? Last Friday, Cantu told Eater Chicago that he was planning to open a coffee and pastry shop in the West Loop. "At first glance it will appear to be a normal coffee and snack shop," Cantu said, "but once you look a little deeper there's really some drastic changes we've put in here." There's no name or menu yet, but the pastries and drinks will likely serve as a testbed for Cantu's ambitious to bring the miracle berry and its promise of sugar-free living to the masses.

So watch this space. After 10 years in business, it looks like Cantu isn't even pausing for breath.
