Pencil This In: Story Sessions At Highland Park Library; Mars Gallery's 25th Anniversary Bash

Story Sessions, the new and increasingly popular local storytelling series at The Dog & Fox (formerly The Dog's Bollox) in Lakeview, hosts a special reading at the Highland Park Library 7 p.m. Sept. 26. Featured readers include Larry Kerns, Barrie Cole, Andy Kerns, Tom Wolferman, MT Cozzola, and Natasha Tsoutsouris. (494 Laurel Ave., Highland Park)

Peter Mars, Barbara Gazdik and James Turk moved to Chicago and opened the doors of Mars Gallery in 1988 and the trio celebrates 25 years of exhibitions, parties, film premieres and charity benefits Sept. 26 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Come look at artwork from some of MArs's favorite artists over the years as well as rare work from private collectors. The first 25 guests will receive gift bags. (1139 W. Fulton Market)
