Ra Ra Riot has a lot going on lately. The indie pop outfit straight outta Syracuse put out a new video, was featured on NPR’s First Watch, and is currently on tour, spreading word of their most recent album, Beta Love. These kids are moseying on into Chicago on the last leg of the tour to play Double Door tonight.

The album was released all the way back in January and sure, they already toured extensively on the heels of its release, but it deserves the prolonged promotion. Like the act’s live performance and prior albums, Beta Love packs a whole lot of rich sound into buoyant and bittersweet pop melodies with sinfully catchy hooks. But this new album strays from the orchestral strings that drew us to the band in the first place and serves up heaping helpings of synth.

We kind of miss the moving violin and cello flourishes that were their trademark, but the new stuff works. Just check out the video for "I Shut Off" down below and decide for yourself. If you like it, check them out tonight when they hit the Double Door with opening act Cayucas—this Santa Monica indie pop act is celebrating their own spring 2013 release, Bigfoot. For now, here’s that video:

Ra Ra Riot plays tonight, October 2 at Double Door, 1572 N Milwaukee, 8 p.m., $20, 21+
