On a rainy fall day like today, we want nothing more than a soothing minimalistic soundtrack to match the mood. And just the right musician is in town tonight with two shows at Constellation. Icelandic composer and instrumentalist Ólafur Arnalds uses loops of classical string, piano arrangements and ambient music to create a soundscape that is the sonic equivalent of wrapping up in your favorite blanket with a warm cup of tea. His show tonight will be a chance to see him in a more intimate space (compared to his show at the MCA in 2011) and enjoy the restraint and complexity of his form of experimental classical music.

Ólafur Arnalds plays Constellation (3111 N. Western Ave) tonight with two shows at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. The shows are 21+ and tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door.
