Directed by Phillip Kaufman and Benjamin Manaster, Goldstein was the first feature for University of Chicago graduate Kaufman back in 1964. The film was shot on the streets of Chicago in 1963 and showcases the landscape of our city and some cameos from other notable Chicagoans as well. The film was a success at the 1964 Cannes Film Festival, where it won la prix de la nouvelle critique and jump-started Kaufman's career. This version of Goldstein has been newly restored from Kaufman’s personal print.

The Patio (6008 W. Irving Park Rd.) is screening the film this evening. The screening is at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are $5.
