Tiny Fix, the local female-friendly bike gang, is hosting a bake sale this weekend at The Bike Lane to help raise funds to print free “Bicyclist Accident Reports” for Chicago cyclists.

The group is partnering up with bicycle lawyer and blogger Josh Zisson to sponsor a run of Illinois specific cards. Zisson’s project, the Bicyclist Accident Report, is a folded business card cyclist can throw in their wallet to have handy in case they find themselves (or others) at the scene of a crash.

The card states the important information a cyclist needs to collect at an accident site in order to file an insurance claim and build a case if necessary. The card also has a guide to local bicycle laws on the back.

We know many riders that have been in accidents and, in the moment, forgot to get vital information, so having a concrete object to reference in the moment when your nerves (and possibly body) are jumbled is a great thing to have.

Any additional funds raised at the bake sale will go back into the Tiny Fix operating budget which helps the group host alleycats and create more content for cyclists on their site.

The Tiny Fix bake sale is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at The Bike Lane (2130 N. Milwaukee Ave) Sunday Oct. 13. They will have both vegan and non-vegan options to satisfy your sweet tooth. The Bike Lane is also have a storewide sale during October so you can grab a great deal on gear or a new bike while chowing down on delicious cupcakes.
