WTTW's Image Union has provided a launching pad for scores of young filmmakers over the decades. Here's a historic debut from June 14, 1982.
Gus Van Sant's The Discipline of DE is a nine-minute short film adaptation of a William S. Burroughs short story about the concept of "DE"—doing things easy. Van Sant directed the film as an instructional, showing how to apply DE into one's everyday routine.
