Pencil This In: Hot Seat: Spoken Word (Re)Generations At Co-Prosperity Sphere

The Illinois Humanities Council will present Hot Seat: Spoken Word (Re)Generations Thursday at the Co-Prosperity Sphere in Bridgeport. The event will feature new works examining culture, race and identity in the Chicago spoken word scene of the late 90s-early 00s with artists Kelly Zen-Yie Tsai, avery r. young and Kevin Coval. After each performance, the other artists will host a series of “hot seat” questions with each performer. The youth poets from Young Chicago Authors will open the show.

Hot Seat: Spoken Word (Re)Generations is Thursday Oct. 17, 6-7:30 p.m. at Co-Prosperity Sphere (3219 South Morgan Street) The event is free to the public, though reservations are required by emailing events@prairie.org or visiting www.prairie.org
