The Blackhawks have a modest three-game winning streak after a shootout win against the Hurricanes Tuesday night. Corey Crawford earned first star of the game honors with another bend-but-don't-break performance between the pipes. Crawford stopped 32 shots and was dominant in the overtime and shootout rounds. Patrick Sharp scored two goals, including the game winner in the shootout, and Marian Hossa scored a first period goal and ended the game with a plus-2 plus/minus differential.
Sharp's first period goal was the 200th of his career. He handled a beautiful feed from Michael Handzus to beat Carolina goalie Cam Ward.
The Hawks return to the United Center Thursday for a game against St. Louis, who handed them their only regulation loss of the season Oct. 9.
