Now in its 20th year, the UniverSoul Circus is wrapping up an extended Chicago run that began last month at Washington Park and, for the first time, came to Union Park.

UniverSoul Circus has grown every year since founder Cedric Walker organized his first event in 1993 and is now the third-largest circus in the United States. Walker's current roster features a Vietnamese balancing act, Ethiopian contortionists and hip-hop informed twists on traditional circus acts.

The added move to Union Park "provides a more convenient, centralized location that will appeal to new audiences," Walker said. "The high-energy, head turning performance combines hip hop, pop, global influences and interactive routines with classic circus acts audiences love to create memorable experiences for the entire family.”

The UniverSoul Circus will perform at Union Park 7:30 p.m. Oct. 17; 10:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Oct. 18; noon, 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Oct. 19; and 12:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Oct. 20. Tickets ($16 to $35), are available at Ticketmaster or by calling 1-800-745-3000. Children under 1 are free.
